2022 Hair and beauty Trends

Sayonara 2021!!  Time to let go of those hibernation hoodies and get back into our groove. We experimented with the relieving thought that no one will see us but now all eyes will be on you. How will you enter this new year? Grown out highlighted hair & cracking, out grown nail polish? I think not! This year we will enter with our heads held high strutting down the street with bold hair, expressive nails and our skin glowing. Our lockdown years were all about reimagining ourselves at home with the limited supplies we could grasp onto. It included our bad DIY colours and cuts. We saw mullets reviving and a more modern female approach. Wolf cuts swarmed social media and paved the way for bolder more modernised cuts. As we experimented with our kitchen scissors a new way of expressionistic hair was created. Simplicity was no more. Texture, layers and free hand cutting will be all the rage as we explore ourselves and what is going to compliment us the most. Jaggered free style cutting made to flatter your face and designed just for you. This new style is not for the faint hearted and the trust in your stylist increases substantially as if Edward Scissorhands himself is standing behind you. Eek. This textured extravagance of shapes will be followed by the BBB. Big Bouncy Blowdries. Volumised hair perfectly bouncing as you make your perfectly delayed entrance. We also move forward into embracing the curly side of life. This year is all about becoming our most authentic self. There is no time for “safe” looks. Through 2021 we saw little pops of colour appear and in 2022 these will be taken to the next level. Bold, bright colours catching our eyes as we trudge to work. In the British Vogue January Magazine cover you can see Kristen McMenamy rocking her extravagant hair. Already we can see the redevelopment of Dip Dyes and horizontal stripes giving individuals that oomph they have so long desired for. On the beauty side of things we expect this colourful embrace to continue into the year. Bright fresh nails will flow through the year to pay tribute to our beautiful seasons. Early 2000’s inspired French tips have started making a come back but with a twist of colour. Our skin is the largest organ in our body and is our bodies first line of defence. Due to living in Australia our skin requires different assistance than other countries. We are tinted by our glowing sun and engulfed in the salts from our beaches. It is time to perfect a skin care routine that will last you a life time. After vigorous tanning trying to catch up after lockdown, a good skin care routine will give your skin the nourishment it needs. This year we deserve to have fresh healthy skin full of life and radiating good energy. Hello Vitamin infusions and light therapy! All in all 2022 is all about you. Your hair, your skin and your ability to be you. At Bare Beauty House we strive to help you understand yourself on the outside so you feel your best on the inside.

Our continued commitment

At Bare Beauty House we strive to find the best and most innovative clean beauty treatments to bring out your inner glow and this year will be no different! As new trends arise such as bold bright colours, we will maintain our advocacy for green technology and minimised waste in beauty salons. Our partnership with Oway will continue and we look forward to using their biodynamic colours to help create your most authentic self. At Bare Beauty House we also use Synergie Skincare who’s main focus is clean science. They reformulate their products whenever a more sustainable and sophisticated approach is available.  A big reason why we love Synergie Skin is they not only help find your inner glow they do so while maintaining the glow of the world around us. Synergie Skin has the focus of clean pure Australian science delivered globally. Terri Vinson, founder and lead scientist, uses the 4 T’s when talking about our skin. Texture, Tone, Tightness and Topicals. These 4 are the main aspects of what we focus on when treating and protecting your skin. With this in mind, we are bringing in new treatments such as vitamin infusions and light therapy throughout the year.   For those of you who don’t know about Vitamin infusions, it is a mini facial in itself where we cleanse and exfoliate your skin and then using an ultra sonic micro therapy device paired with the vitamins that your skins craving, massage and infuse the vitamins into your skin. The sound therapy device helps push the ingredients deep into your skin allowing a deeper cleanse and vitamin infusion which results in longer lasting, visible results where you will leave the salon absolutely glowing! Light Therapy, as many of you probably know, has many benefits. One of which is stimulating cellular activity, including the fibroblasts that produce collagen, a substance that gives young skin its plump look. Collagen production helps minimise fine lines and wrinkles, treat sun-damage and stretch marks, and reduce redness. Our in salon light therapy treatments will use different coloured lights to target the varied skin concerns. The light therapy treatments have no downtime, so you can be back out in the sun with no concerns, as well as being able to have a light therapy treatment every 48 hours for maximum results! We also partner with ‘Sustainable Salons’ to provide an eco friendly approach to the removal of waste. Together we have kept 69kg of plastics out of landfill, 138kg of paper recycled and have recycled 100kg of metals. We also look at the more humanitarian side of life and have provided over 169,000 meals to those in need  and we actually couldn’t do that without you.  The meals are provided by donating the profit from the sales of recycled aluminium and paper used in your services! At Bare Beauty House we focus on informing clients and being a voice in the hair and beauty industry. Naomi Browner, our founder, is due to be a speaker at this years hair festival (covid pending) and will help educate our industry about the more sustainable approach to hair and beauty. This year we also have ‘Earth Day’ in April, ‘Clean up Australia’ in March and following that we have National Plant a Tree Day & Plastic free July. For every one of these events we will have different campaigns to help provide support and knowledge to our local community and industry. Using our clean products, partnering with the right waste removal services and being an advocate for positive change within our industry collectively helps us to become a sustainability leader within the industry and ultimately achieve our goal of continued commitment to the environment and surrounding community.

A preventative approach to beauty

Bare Beauty House strongly promotes a proactive and preventative approach to beauty. This is done by encouraging and educating our community on the benefits of acting before a concern arrises. For example, having regular facials will proactively nourish your skin, we can protect and refresh your skin every 4-6 weeks to avoid you having break outs, flare ups, or dry cracked skin. From there you maintain the health of your skin at home, using your holistic skin care routine. This includes factors such as ensuring you have a healthy diet and are drinking enough water. Ensuring you are keeping active each day and spending time in nature. On top of that you will nourish your skin with essential oils and vitamins and help them penetrate into the dermis of the skin using holistic tools such as Jade rollers and Gua Sha. A lot more people are consistent with this concept when it comes to their hair care. For example most people will do a hair mask or nourish their hair with oils on a consistent basis to prevent split ends and dry hair. Most people will get a haircut consistently to ensure they can maintain the health of their hair. This forward thinking should be adapted to not only your skincare but to a complete lifestyle approach, helping you flourish ensuring all aspects of your life are positive. Spending more time in nature and moving our bodies will proactively reduce mental health issues caused by anxiety and depression. Not only will we feel connected to something bigger than ourselves - nature. We will also release endorphins to promote happiness and feel and look healthier, which again will promote happiness, overall lifestyle satisfaction and help your natural beauty shine from the inside out. At Bare Beauty House we promote you to take control once and for all, and believe that wellness isn’t just a treat, but it is something that lies within all of us and is essential for us to thrive. We believe in the power of simplification. You don’t need a 10 step beauty routine, you don’t need the fanciest blow dryer. You need simplicity and a sustainable beauty routine that you can be consistent with. We believe in creating a hair and beauty routine that is sustainable, not just for the environment but for your daily routine and for your finances. To us, this means providing exceptional customer service that addresses your specific skin care or hair care concerns using the minimal amount of products. This not only reduces wastage but will also help save you money in the long run, giving you the power to shield your skin and hair from daily pollutions and take back the control to enable you to focus on the pleasures of life. Caring for your hair after birth

Caring for your hair after birth

This can seem like a daunting task with a new little person to take care of. As a Mum myself it was extremely important for me to feel put together by being able to blow dry my hair. It's always been my thing and the thought of not being able to do my hair made me quite anxious especially as I wasn't feeling or looking like myself.  Firstly don't worry, you will find you again, I promise! Secondly, we are women after all, we can do anything we put our mind too, right?! Back to my point, caring for your hair after birth. It's a whole new ballgame, you're either dealing with a new unwanted fringe, side burns or the ever so stylish mullet AKA mumllet. Whatever you are left with its not fun and its usually unruly and just downright annoying. Most new mums are not prepared for the amount of hair you loose after giving birth. This can start anywhere from a few days after birth to months after. My hair loss didn't happen until my Son was 11 months old so here I was laughing it up thinking Ha, it wont happen to me. Then BAM one day I'm washing my hair and felt the shedding of my beautiful pregnancy hair and then a week or so later the mumllet arrived. Hormones are the biggest reason for your pregnancy hair changes and postpartum hair loss. So after your baby arrives and your hormone levels drop, your hair makes up for lost time by falling out in much bigger clumps than it normally does. The total volume of your hair loss probably isn’t more than you would have lost over the last nine months, it just seems like it because it’s happening all at once. Most women will return to their usual hair growth cycle between 6 and 12 months after birth but the hair loss can go on for up to 12 months for some women. To help you care for your hair during this extra challenging time I recommend upping your antioxidant intake. This can help protect against postpartum hair loss by nourishing your scalp and hair follicles. Antioxidants like Vitamin C and E will help provide extra nourishment and Biotin and Zinc will help fortify your hair and help it grow. As a busy mum you may be thinking, this is in the too hard basket. But I have an easy solution for you. Get your extra antioxidant intake when you wash your hair! Oway are a biodynamic organic haircare range providing shampoo and conditioners that are rich in antioxidants. Specifically the Moisturising Bath and Mask which contains Vitamin C and the Rebuilding Hair Bath and Mask which contains trace minerals such as iron, magnesium, zinc, & copper. Both are perfect ranges to use postpartum depending on your specific haircare needs. You can even mix the two ranges up using the Bath of one and the Mask of the other. (the Bath is your shampoo and the mask is your conditioner) You can also work these antioxidants into your diet if you don't already and take vitamins to add an extra dose of nourishment. When you do eventually deal with the hair loss, the first step is to get a scalp treatment. Ensuring your scalp is healthy will let your hair grow through the scalp healthy, strong and as thick as possible for your normal hair thickness. If you have build up on your scalp it puts pressure on the growing follicle and the hair has to squeeze through to get out your scalp but when your scalp is free of build up the hair is able to grow through without strain! I would also recommend getting a trim to help the rest of your hair thicken up a little and make you feel like you have a bit more hair. Depending on what texture your hair is you may benefit from a smoothing treatment to help those fluffy short bits lay flat and allow you to control them a bit better while they grow out or possibly working them into your haircut might be a good option for you. For more personalised advice you can book a hair care consultation with one of our experienced stylist. We will run through your concerns and give you easy solutions to help set you on your path to your best hair yet! And remember Mama, be kind to yourself.

Exfoliating before or after shaving?

Exfoliating away dead skin cells is one of the best things you can do for your skin, but it can also be one of the most confusing, especially for men as you have to add in the extra complication of shaving. Do you do this before or after and how do you exfoliate with a beard? Were here to answer all your burning questions and get you on the road to healthier smoother skin in no time! First things first we should probably cover what exfoliation actually does and which one is best to use. Exfoliation is the one step in your skincare routine that is guaranteed to make your complexion grow and keep your skin looking younger. It does this by buffing away dead skin cells and accelerating skin cell renewal. Your skin does this naturally and its called desquamation. The problem with letting your skin to get on with it all on its own is that with the lifestyle we live our skin is exposed to a lot more free radicals, UVA UVB Rays as well as pollution and build up from various sources. This is why we need to exfoliate. We need to help that natural process along and get through all the excess pollution and free radicals to reveal renewed skin cells and stimulate the natural repair process. What will you see after an exfoliation
  • smoother skin texture
  • Smaller pores
  • Improvement in all over skin tone
  • Remove blackheads
  • Reduction in in-grown hairs
What you won’t see after an exfoliation
  • increased blood circulation
  • Nutrients returning to the surface of the skin
  • Your moisturiser will absorb into the skin better keeping you more hydrated for longer
The build up of dead skin cells leads to razor bumps and ingrown hairs when you shave, so exfoliating the dead skin cells away stops the bumps and ingrown hairs from from forming in the first place. Black men can benefit the most from exfoliation as it will get rid of the dead skin cells that make dark skin look ashy and clogged. If you have a beard, exfoliation will keep beard dandruff away, improve your skin texture, keep your hair follicles clear and healthy and encourage strong beard growth. With all hair growth, ensuring the skin around the follicle is healthy will ensure healthy strong hair. Back to the exfoliation. What can you use to exfoliate? We recommend using either Mediscrub or Cleansing Dust by Synergie Skin once or twice a week. A common myth is that we need to exfoliate every day and this is not the case. You can cause more harm than good exfoliating too often. The trick to exfoliating is finding the right exfoliant for your skin type. Cleansing dust is a deeply purifying cleanser that is both effective and gentle on the skin. Granulated rice particles contain ferric acid and allantoin to gently exfoliate, soothe and brighten your skin while CoEnzyme Q10 helps to reverse free radical damage (that that nasty pollution and environmental build up) Great for all skin types who want a gentle and effective exfoliant. Mediscrub is a deeply exfoliating facial scrub with crystals almost chemically identical to sapphire. These natural crystals are used to effectively remove dead skin cells, remove black heads and improve dull skin. It feels a lot more granular and is perfect for skin that has a lot of blocked pores, blackheads and looking quite dull. If you are exfoliating before you shave, never after always before you should opt for a gentler exfoliant as shaving is already quite a rigorous exfoliation of the face. What you want to do is remove any dead skin cells beforehand so you can shave with less pressure and there’s also less chance of irritation. For all you bearded men out there, we know the skin under your beard can become dry and flaky and extremely itchy. The best way to exfoliate the skin under your beard is with a beard exfoliator brush. The brush will lift all the ready to flake skin from your face and you won’t have to battle with trying to remove the particles from a scrub that will get trapped in your beard. After using your brush, cleanse your face well and apply a beard oil to nourish your beard and the skin underneath it will help reduce the amount of beard dandruff you have to out up with. So by now you should understand what exfoliator will work for you, how often you should exfoliate and what to do about exfoliating with or without a beard. Your on your way to smoother, fresher skin! Just remember, for a better exfoliation, dont scrub harder just scrub for longer and limit your exfoliation sessions to twice a week. Consistency is key so give yourself 4 weeks of routinely exfoliating and you will be amazed at the difference!

Maintain your mental health in lockdown

The simple pleasure of sitting on the beach watching the waves roll in are a no no at the moment and I don’t know about you but my mental health craves being near the ocean. Whilst I am making do with long walks and runs along the coast, it doesn’t compare to the clarity I can get from sitting and staring at our beautiful ocean. With this in mind I have created 2 simple tips to maintain our mental health and there’s a wealth of added benefits that comer along with them.
  1. Swap your commuting time for mental health time
We all have a few more hours available to us, as we are not commuting to and from work. Use that time to actively work on your mental health. Don’t just wake up and get stuck into work. You didn’t prior to lockdown so why would you do that now. Use your time efficiently and take a walk with your family or a friend, Meditate, or schedule in a online exercise class for the morning. Take turns with your partner for who can look after the kids while the other one gets some headspace and can return with a clear mind ready to tackle whatever the day or the kids throw at you. In the evening why not use your commuting time to pamper yourself. Take a bath, do an at home facial, manicure or body scrub. If we look good we feel good, so making sure you are scheduling time in for exercise and personal maintenance is a must not a treat. Most of you won’t be able to do this daily but even ensuring you work into your schedule some time once or twice a week will make all the difference in the world. Remember you can’t fill from an empty cup so fill yourself up and then you can be the best version of yourself for your family and colleagues. 2. Set yourself goals  I find setting myself goals, especially now, keeps my mind focused and drives me forward. Your goals can be as simple as coming out of lockdown with healthier hair. You can do this by making time for a hair treatment once a week and not blowdrying your hair during lockdown. Limiting hot styling and adding nourishment to your hair will guarantee your hair will be healthier and happier whenever it is this lockdown ends. Another goal could be running 5km without stopping. Scheduling time in to run each day or even every second day will be enough to get you there in a few weeks. Put those head phones in and get running, and don’t beat yourself up if you cant run too far. At the moment I am run/walking every second day. I warm up with a brisk 2 min walk, then I run for as long as I can and then walk again until I catch my breath and just repeat this for the time I have set aside. Each time I can run a little longer and feel more fit as each week passes. Try it, what do you have to loose. How about setting a goal to look younger coming out of lockdown, Yes Please! You can achieve this by creating and/or sticking to a daily skin care routine. Now they don’t have to be elaborate and all encompassing. Consistency is key. Make sure you are using a cleanser every morning and night followed by your vitamins (this could be your A and B at night and your C in the morning, or maybe you have one super serum you like to use both morning and night) whatever serums you have just make sure you use them consistently. Using serums packed with vitamins will help feed your mitochondria. Mitochondria are known as the powerhouses of the cell. They are organelles that act like a digestive system which takes in nutrients, breaks them down, and creates energy rich molecules for the cell. Energising and nourishing your skin cells are vital for a youthful, glowing appearance. Vitamin rich serums will also help normalise any imbalances in your skin, like oiliness, dryness, pigmentation and acne. Then you want to finish your routine with a moisturiser. This will vary depending on what your skin concerns are. During the day ensure to wear an SPF. I know we are stuck at home but the glass typically used in homes and offices does not block the long-wavelength UVA light, even though it filters out uvb. The UVA can cause early signs of skin aging, wrinkles and can increase the risk of skin cancer. At night you will want to use something to nourish and repair your skin while you sleep. You can also add in an exfoliant after cleansing each day if you like and use a Gua Sha and roller to help a number of things including to promote blood circulation, improve fine lines and wrinkles, promotes lymphatic drainage and relieve tension from muscles . I wanted to keep things really simple for you. Your routine can be as big or little as you like but sticking to the essentials of, Cleanse, Vitamins and Nourishment for your particular skin concerns will make the world of difference. And after just 28 days I guarantee you will see a difference in your skin. These 2 simple tips can have such a positive impact on your overall wellbeing and mental health. You will be in a routine, focussed, working towards a happier, healthier and even younger version of yourself. So go on utilise the extra time in your days properly and lets make some positive changes come from all the disruption to our days.

Great skin is as easy as A B C..

You know how you take vitamins for gut health or maybe to help you sleep better. We;; vitamins as you have probably started to realise can be used in many different ways. Your skin ( thats your largest organ by the way) benefits greatly from Vitamins A B & C being topically applied. We call them, The Regulator, The Multi-tasker and The Fortifier, Heres how this trio helps turn back the clock, reduce pigmentation and skin irritations including acne. Thats right this trio does it all. Vitamin A (The regulator)
  • Helps reverse photo ageing
  • Reduced inflammation
  • Regulates epidermal turnover
  • Stimulates and preserves collagen
  • Improves skin texture
  • Regulates oil production to help improve acne
  • Restores dermal thickness
Vitamin B (The multitasker)
  • Improves natural hydration levels
  • Strengthens the outer skin layer
  • Decreases inflammation and skin irritation
  • Increases collagen to reduce appearance of lines and wrinkles
  • Increases skin immunity
  • Addresses pigmentation by reducing pigment transfer to epidermal cells
  • Enhances blood flow in skin which promotes healthy vessels for transferring skin nutrients to rid of toxins.
Vitamin C (The fortifier)
  • Vital for collagen production
  • Helps to brighten skin and reduce pigmentation
  • Powerful antioxidants protect cells from free radicals and UV damage
  • Anti inflammatory and aids tissue repair
  • Helps improve and smooth out fine lines
  • Revives dull skin for optimal radiance
So for amazing skin no matter your concern you know you can trust your trio. The best way to use them is your Vitamin C in the morning, like you would have a glass or orange juice in the morning. Your Vitamin B can go on day or night or both. So think B for Both. Work that into your routine however it suits you. And then your Vitamin A goes on at night time, think A for After dark. You should apply a Sun factor every day on top of your vitamins and a more treatment focused night cream. If you have any questions about what to use, how to use it or need some general advice please shoot krissi an email at hello@barebeautyhouse.com

Does brushing your hair wet cause breakage?

Sure, brushing your hair after your shower may seem like a great idea, but changing your after-shower routine can actually benefit your hair! Brushing your hair while it’s wet can result in significant damage. This is because your hair is in it’s most fragile state when it’s wet. Brushing your hair when it is wet with a regular brush leads to flyaways which result in that “frizzy when I air dry” look. And that’s just the start. Over time, damage to the hair will happen, like split ends and eventually breakage. That will prevent even the best hair grower from achieving their desired length. If you still have tangles after washing it or even after a swim, we recommend using a wide-tooth comb on your wet hair. This will restore the order. Make sure the comb has smooth tooth ends and comb slowly to avoid any tearing or pulling. Comb from the ends towards the roots as combing from the roots to ends can cause damage too. The same brushing techniques also apply to dry hair, however, your dry hair is 80% stronger than your wet hair! There are some incredible benefits just by brushing your hair (dry) in general. The most noticeable would be natural shine. Our favourite benefit is that it stimulates your scalp which promotes hair growth. Woo-hoo! Brushing your dry hair also acts like a second shampoo by eliminating build up and dry skin on your scalp. In short, the truth behind the longest known hair contraversey is to always bush your hair when it is dry. We are able to avoid the most breakage while prepping the hair for a tangle-free wash and condition.

How to nourish your skin during the colder months.

The Winter months can be so harsh and drying on your skin. With the wind getting colder (thanks arctic blast) and the heating being cranked up indoors, this change of climate can be a shock to our skin especially after months of warm weather and humidity. In the cooler months we really need to nourish and hydrate our skin just that little bit more. Kristina from Bare Beauty House recommends to "have regular facials during winter to help maintain moisture and hydration within your skin". These facials will help deliver maximum hydration giving you the best results for keeping your skin youthful. One of our favourite ways of doing this is using our Ultrasonic Micro-therapy Device. The way this works on the skin is by using sound waves to create physiological effects within the skin tissue. The machine helps push products deeper into the epidermis layer of the skin, giving you a deeper clean and helping our products penetrate further from not only faster results but a deeper hydration. In between facials we recommend maintaining these results by using an at home face mask once a week, followed by your regular double cleanse and exfoliation. Once your mask has worked its magic rinse off with a warm towel and nourish your skin with face oils and moisturisers recommended by your skincare professional. But what about the skin on my body.. You haver probably noticed that moisturisers just sink straight in and don't feel like they are doing much right now. Kristina recommends a detoxifying body treatment to remove dead skin cells and nourish your body. Refresh and renew your skin with this highly detoxifying full body treatment. Marine salts assist the buffing away of dulling skin cells ready for potent aromatics to be infused into the skin. A highly active seaweed body wrap will purge the toxins and remineralise the skin. This is followed by a skin drenching moisturising blend finalising the treatment leaving your skin feeling silky soft, smooth and glowing. Body treatments arnt just good for your skin on the outside, they also help remove toxins from your system allowing you to hit that reset button feeling healthy and glowing. You can maintain these silky smooth results using a body butter at home each evening. So dont worry about having dry skin this winter, nourish and replenish your skin with these helpful tips and feel amazing from the inside out!

How to choose the best nail colour for your wedding

Wedding colours include pastels, natural hues, and nude. As you enter your favourite sustainable nail salon for your wedding day booking, you are suddenly overwhelmed with all of the different options for nude nail polish. What was meant to be an easy nail polish selection has just turned into one of the hardest decisions of your wedding! But do not fear, bride-to-be, the nail experts here at Bare Beauty House are here to help with this easy guide to choosing your best nail colour for your wedding. With our favourite non-toxic, hard-wearing and long-lasting Dazzle Dry collection couldn’t get easier than this. When it comes to neutral nail polish, it’s not a matter of one shade fits all, especially on your big day. This is because we all have different skin tones. To know your tone means that you know what range of neutral tone colours you can start looking at. First determine your skin tone by looking at the underside of your wrist. If the veins appear blue, you have cool undertones. If the veins appear green, you have warm undertones in your skin. If there is no distinct difference from green or blue, then you are lucky enough to be a neutral skin tone. The common skin classifications are; fair complexion with warm undertones, fair complexion with cool tones, medium complexion, olive complexion, and dark complexion. Now that we know our skin tone, it’s time to pick our nail colour. “For a clean sleek look try going a shade or two lighter.” recommends Kana, The Bare Beauty House nail technician. For fair skin with cool undertones, try a sheer baby pink as it won’t look to yellow against your skin tone. Dazzle Dry suggests their nail polish ’Truth’ or ’Touch of Love’. Both are sheer cream nail polishes that are nontoxic. For medium skin completions with warm undertones, select creamy beiges. A few options are ’Smitten’, which is a full coverage creme. If you are wanting something a little less covered, try the semi-sheer creme colour, ’Strawberry Macaron’. Darker skin complexions are lucky enough to handle a variety of nudes from dusty pinks to pink latte tones. Dazzle Dry has these nude shades in ‘Boss’, ‘Girlish Giddy’ and ‘Ready Set Pose’ which are sure to be the theme of your wedding. A few things to remember when choosing the correct shade of nail polish for your wedding is to not focus too much on trying to match your nude to your actual skin tone. Going a shade lighter or darker is actually a bit flattering. Nude polish is not only trending, but it will actually elongate the look of your fingers. So go ahead and walk down the isle this wedding season feeling confident with all of your wedding decisions, even your nail color. Cheers to you, Bare Beauty Babe! Xx

Why we trust Oway to colour your hair

Oway has created an outstanding colour brand and have strong values that we share. For these reasons we feel safe using them to create outstanding shades for you to enjoy month on end. Here is a little more information about Oway and what they do. At Oway they creat Agricosmetics. For them, this means growing zero-mile plants, flowers and medicinal and aromatic shrubs on their ORTOFFICINA estate, on the hills of Bologna. It means choosing the biodynamic method - the healthiest and cleanest, which does not re- quire the use of chemicals - to obtain pure, ultra-effective essential oils, hydrolates and extracts that become active ingredients in OWAY treatments. Agricosmetics® is packaging OWAY formulas, rich in natural ingredients, only in glass and aluminium, precious, protective and completely recyclable materials. agricosmetics® means eliminating plastic, which is highly polluting, and un- necessary and superfluous packaging and making the necessary tools exclusively in eco-sustainable paper, wood, metal, cotton: natural materials that convey authentic sensations. It means using renewable energy for business processes to reduce the environmental footprint. agricosmetics® is creating concentrated products, rich in active ingredients so that, in the salon and at home, they are used in the right quantities, thus avoiding waste. agricosmetics® is a way of thinking, a way of life, a conscious choice. It is putting care, conscience and attention in every choice and action, and creating quality products that respect environment and people. Fair trade purchasing guarantees farmers a fair return and dignified work conditions, eliminating speculative intermediation and support- ing self-development projects. The producer organisations do not use child labour and they envisage a strong presence of women in participative and decision-making processes. The protection of the environment is guaranteed in all production phases and the farms respect local crops and biodiversity. The phrase WE LOVE ANIMALS communicates their ethical choices. Oway has made a decision not to export OWAY to the countries, where importers are obligated to perform testing on animals. Marking the culmination of our work, we obtained PETA Cruelty Free recognition and certification in the U.S.A. PETA (People for the Ethical Treat ment of Animals) is the largest world organisation for the protection of animal rights. PETA has always been at the forefront in the fight against vivisection, experimentation and other brutal treatments of animals. OZONATED WATER, VERY PURE WATER Water is an essential raw material for many cosmetic products, but it is also the vehicle of microbes and bacteria, which may contaminate the formulas. To preserve the purity of our products to the maximum, the water contained in them undergoes two natural purifying treatments: reverse osmosis and ozonisation. REVERSE OSMOSIS is a completely natural process that technology has "borrowed" from nature. It is a safe and effective system, which separates the water from foreign substances through the use of special mem- branes, called semi-permeable or osmotic. These membranes allow pure water filtration and retention of foreign substances both in suspension and dissolved. After reverse osmosis, we proceed to water ozonisation. Ozone, a natural molecule composed of 3 atoms of oxygen, destroys any residual microorganisms by oxidation, breaking the cell membrane in a few seconds. As a result of these process- es, the water is microbiologically purified. Oway actively ensures their products are as natural as can be, preserving the ingredients, the land on which they are grown and the community helping to harvest them. They care about the entire process and make high qualoity professional products. This is why we will continue to support them.

Why Is Facial Massage A Necessity, Not A Luxury?

There are over 40 muscles in our face that are continuously at work, when we laugh, frown, squint, talk or express our emotions in any other way. They are often the first ones to store stress and tension along with old emotions and past memories. That’s why we can tell someone’s character just by looking at the lines on their face. Facial muscles support an amazing function that allows us to express our unique selves!⁣ Continuous daily use of facial muscles means that over time they shorten and harden, they’re no longer able to return to their original length and form. Shortened muscles pull soft tissue and skin on the surface and as a result we start to get deeper and deeper expression lines; some of us start to clench or grind; others develop headaches or twitches. In addition to this, facial muscles fight gravity every second of the day or at least they are supposed to fight it when in their healthy tone.⁣ ⁣Regular facial massage is not only an aesthetic, but a therapeutic treatment vital for maintaining health and tone of facial muscles. Sculptural facial massage brings these muscles back to their original shape and length, softens lines, melts away tension, releases past emotions and simply soothes your Soul! During the treatment clients feel deeply relaxed and often fall in and out of sleep. After the treatment they have that well-rested relaxed post-holiday look and report feeling completely different only wishing they’d found out about it much earlier. ⁣Of course emotions and stresses will start to build up again over time as such is our nature, so it’s important to have treatments on a monthly basis. Regular facial massages started at a young age prolong relaxed youthful look on the face for many years ahead and are certainly a long-term investment. ⁣
