We recommend our clients to have a facial once a month and the reason for this is apparent in our skin cell turnover cycle which happens every 28-40 days.
The skin naturally sheds dead skin cells through a process called desquamation. Every 28-40 days, on average, a new skin cell is “born” in the stratum germinativum, the deepest layer of the epidermis. The cell travels up through the epidermis until it reaches the uppermost layer of the skin, the stratum corneum. Once the cell reaches this layer, it is rough, dry, flaky — what we consider a “dead” skin cell. Ideally, new skin cells continue to arrive at the skin’s surface, pushing older cells off from beneath. As this year has taught us, things don’t always happen as they should. A lot of the time our skin cells aren’t shed properly, especially in acne-prone skin. This is the reason regular exfoliation is so important, especially for acne-prone skin as it produces more dead skin cells which aren’t shed properly and end up buried in the top layer of skin causing more break outs and redness.
At home deep cleansing and exfoliation is great for maintenance in-between your facials but it is limited in its efficiency. Especially during the summer season when our skin is highly responsive to dirt, sunscreen, excess oil and dead skin.
Our damaged skin needs to be repaired and our resources to do this at home are limited.
This is where your regular facial comes into play. A professional cleanse, exfoliation and overall skin rejuvenation plays an important role in keeping your skin healthy and youthful.
As we age, our cell turnover rate slows down. That’s why our skin never looks quite as “bright” as it did when we were younger.
In addition, a facial massage greatly improves blood circulation within the body. Draining the lymphatic system makes the skin radiant while skin rejuvenation, detoxification and a reduction in the physical appearance of stress induced manifestations alter our face lines (aka wrinkles) and reduces the impact of ageing.
Once your skin gets softer from regular visits, your body becomes more receptive to the absorption of skincare products and clears the path for the best possible skincare results.
At Bare Beauty House, we use a varied range of organically sourced products which provide a deeper more comprehensive impact to our client’s skin.
This is what Yana from Bare Beauty House had to say
“Like the changing seasons, so too does our skin transform with the coming and passing of each season. Our skin also responds and reacts to hormones and our overall lifestyle. I also believe in the healing energy of touch and feel its very important for us all to receive a healing touch to add to the benefits of our beauty treatments “
