Top 3 Men’s skincare tips

Who doesn’t want clear, youthful skin?

If you’re struggling to keep your face blemish-free, you’ve got some signs of ageing popping up or you’re just sick of the bags under your eyes, we’ve got a few tips to share.

First, it’s important that you identify and understand your skin type:

  • Sensitive skin may sting or burn after product use
  • Normal skin is clear and not sensitive
  • Dry skin is flaky, itchy or rough
  • Oily skin is shiny and greasy
  • Combination skin is dry in some areas and oily in others

Now that you have a better understanding of your skin type you should ensure you are using a range or products to compliment your skin type.

Sometimes a few simple adjustments to your skin care regimen, or just getting started on a regimen, is all it takes to achieve better-looking skin.

Follow these 3 simple steps to get started on your skincare journey

1. Wash your face and moisturise before bed

Simple but extremely effective in reducing breakouts.

When you don’t wash your face before sleeping you are leaving all the days first and grim sit on your skin and seep deeper into your pores overnight. Our skin repairs itself during the night so leaving it clean and hydrated gives it the best chance at regeneration. A nighttime moisturiser will quickly go to work while you sleep, replenishing and repairing your skin for a clearer, brighter complexion.

2. Exfoliate twice a week

You don’t want to over exfoliate your skin as this can dry it out and cause acne, even if you have oily skin. Sticking to exfoliating twice a week is a good routine to help remove dead skin cells and prevent pimples as well as keeping your skin youthful and healthy. You will need a mens face scrub as anything targeted at women will be too soft and not give you the exfoliation you are after!

3.Keep your skin moisturised

Some men believe that laying off the moisturiser will help clear up their skin but in fact your skin needs hydration to loosen sebum buildup that clogs your pores. Drying out your skin can also result in excess sebum production which will give you more breakouts and oilier skin.

In addition making sure you sleep well will make a big difference in keeping your blemishes under control and reducing the bags under your eyes.

For a personalised skin care analysis we recommend for you to visit a professional beauty therapist for a 60 min – 90min facial. Your therapist will assess and treat your skin accordingly and you should leave with at home recommendations and a lot more knowledge on how to best look after your skin to achieve your skincare goals.
